Preserving the Past, Building the Future

Constructed between 1936 and 1937 for educational purposes in South Natick, the now-vacant Eliot School is located in the John Eliot Historic District, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Metro West’s proposal includes the creation of 32 high-quality affordable apartments for households at and below 60% AMI and 30% AMI. The preservation of the Eliot School’s historic architecture is a top priority for the project, as is the maximization of the site’s open space.

A second three-story building is planned to be constructed and this structure will pursue Passive House Certification, a first for the Town of Natick. The existing three-story Eliot School building is planned to house apartments as well as a community room and office space for the property manager.
